Not just one photo today | The Jordan Hospital Club Polar Plunge

a photo a day

march 5th, 2011

I recently joined the board of The Jordan Hospital Club and today was the 9th Annual Polar Plunge. Today was a remarkable day and I was so proud to be a part of it. My part was easy – I photographed the plungers. These people who raised over $100,000 in honor of loved ones, in memory of family and friends no longer with them, in thanks for hearing the words – cancer free and for some to just make a difference.

Nella raised $1100 and her team “The Freeze Pops” collectively raised $5500. Nine children in grades 4th – 6th. WOW!

These are just a few of the images, the rest will follow in the coming week and will be available for a complimentary download.

Thank you for a fabulous day plungers!

heidi

The FREEZEPOPS are making it look easy, but don’t be fooled – the water is ICE COLD! Saturday March 5th this group of children will be plunging into the Atlantic Ocean at Plymouth Beach to raise money for The Jordan Hospital Cancer Center.

How can you help? The team is well on its way to reach their collective goal of $3000. You may donate online to the team or your favorite ICEPOP! Be sure to leave a note of encouragement.

Thank you for your support!

Thank you to all the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. This parade always brings tears to my eyes as I look at the men and women who have served our country and hear people in the crowd call out thank you. Sadly, the flag was not flying in front of Memorial Hall and did not go unnoticed.

Van has marched in this parade as a Tiger Scout, Wolf Scout, Bear Scout, Webelos, Boy Scout & Tenderfoot. Nella has marched as a Daisy, Brownie, Junior and is now a Cadette. If you recognize anyone in the images – let me know. Thanks.
