It was getting late, sun was disappearing behind the trees and my car battery was dead. I didn’t have “a photo a day” yet, had to deal with the car & then I spied Tevin who has the most beautiful eyes. Photo made and AAA arrived – perfect.

I love doing this shot, especially with siblings and even more fun when it is my own children. As long as I had Van’s attention yesterday I quickly got Nella on board.

I am often asked if I photograph my children all the time. The answer is no. They may not agree with that since they are probably photographed more than most children. There is a difference between photographing them vs standing in for a shot.

Today I photographed Van. This is my son at 13.

I don’t know who was faster – little Sofia running away from me, Digger the dog running away from Sofia to the beach he was not allowed on, or Joe who took off in fast pursuit of Digger. It all made for a fun beach session on a warm summer evening.

Back in the beginning of time, I used to shoot for the Boston Phoenix. Recently, I heard from the art director about reuse of a picture of mine in their files. That opened  the door to fresh work, and here you go. The idea took a few days to marinate. On Sunday, 6 friends and 40 minutes later, we had a cover shot.
